A simple routine that works well:

1. Sign in and visit your Promotions area
2. Register/activate anything relevant
3. Book direct while signed in so your Bonvoy number is attached
4. Keep screenshots of the promo terms until points post (just in case)

What counts as a “Stay” with Marriott (quick reality check)

Most Marriott promos follow the same practical rules:

• Paid eligible rates usually qualify
• Award nights sometimes qualify for elite nights, but promos can differ
• Third-party bookings (OTAs) often do not qualify for points/promos

If you’re unsure, your safest approach is still: activate first, then book direct.

Exceptions from Bonvoy Promotions

The following types of stay will not qualify for the promotion.

• Award redemption stays where points are redeemed for each night of the entire stay are not eligible for the promotion.
• Rates available through most third-party online retailers and select travel agency rates do not qualify for this promotion (“Non-Qualifying Rate”).
• Stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott International, Marriott Executive Apartments, and owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club, Marriott Grand Residence Club, Sheraton Vacation Club, Westin Vacation Club, The Ritz-Carlton Club, St. Regis Residence Club, and Luxury Collection Residence Club, are not eligible for bonus points for this promotion.
