Using IHG Corporate Codes to get discounted hotel rates is a great way to save up to 50% on your hotel stays. They are very easy to use, you just need to understand what these codes are, how to use them, and which ones provide the best discount.
These codes work at some of the most popular IHG properties including, Intercontinental, Kimpton, Holiday Inn, and Hotel Indigo.
In this article, we’ll explore IHG Corporate Codes, including what they are, how to use them and which ones are the best. More importantly, we’ll provide a long list of popular codes that are available today!
What are IHG Corporate Codes?
In case you aren’t familiar with them, Hotel Corporate Codes are special rate codes that are used to identify the negotiated rate an organization has with a hotel chain (in this case, IHG) and are entered in a “Corporate ID” field to calculate the reduced rate.
These rates apply to corporate employees, members of certain organizations, and government officials and can be either local discounts with a specific hotel or national discounts that apply across the entire chain of properties.
If you’re affiliated with a company that has the negotiated rate in some way (employee, customer, vendor), you can take advantage of these corporate discounts and save a lot of money!
IHG Corporate Rates & Discounts
Corporate discounts will vary from location to location and can be up to 50% off rack rates. Consulting firms like Accenture and IBM have a lot of consultants traveling every week so they are going to have some of the best “chain-wide” or “system-wide” discounts.
However, many large corporations bring in a lot of visitors and will provide some great rates in their local headquarters vicinity – such as Bank of America in Charlotte, 3M in Minneapolis, or General Motors in Detroit.
Here’s an example of savings using the Ford Motor Company Corporate Rate at a hotel near their headquarters in Dearborn, MI. The Corporate Rate is 36% less than the IHG member discount rate and 33% less than the prepaid, non-refundable rate. Plus you can cancel up until 6:00 the day of your arrival vs. 1 day prior to your arrival.
What’s included in a Corporate Rate
Corporate rates often provide more than just a discounted room rate. They often come with additional perks such as free WiFi, free breakfast, shuttle service from the hotel to your office, etc.
Another great benefit of booking with a corporate rate is the ability to cancel up until the last minute, as shown in the Ford example above. IHG typically requires a full day notice to cancel without penalty, but some corporate rates give you the ability to cancel up until 6 PM the day of check-in.
List of IHG Corporate Codes
The following are some of the most prevalent corporate codes used at IHG properties. If you’re an employee of, or are going to visit and do business with one of these companies, you can take advantage of their negotiated rates.
IHG One Rewards
Unlike discounts offered through Online Travel Agents (OTA’s) or IHG’s Friends and Family Rate, these codes allow you to save money AND still earn IHG One Rewards Points and get IHG Elite Status Benefits.
IHG Brands that Accept Corporate Codes
Corporate rates are available at IHG’s high-end properties like Kimpton, Regent, and Intercontinental as well as their mid-tier and economy brands like Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites hotels.
IHG University Discounts
The table above includes both businesses and a couple of universities. If you are going to be visiting a city that has a major university, you may want to “take a tour of the campus” to do some scouting for a current or future child or grandchild. If this is the case, google the university’s negotiated travel rates, they can offer some pretty nice savings for people who are on campus tours.

How to Book with an IHG Corporate Code
It’s very easy to determine if a Corporate Code is going to provide a discount for you. Just enter the code in the “Corporate Special Rate” field (pictured below) and your search will reveal if a discount is available at a given property.
Identification Requirements when using a Corporate Code
Most hotel properties would rather sell a discounted room rather than have it sit empty, so they are lax about asking for an ID.
However, according to policies on Corporate Travel, IHG does reserve the right to ask for employment verification. Proof of employment may be verified with a business card or company credit card. If you are not able to show your affiliation with the company, you may be required to pay the full rack rate.
