How to Book a Student Fare with Turkish Airlines

Step One: Sign Up for a Miles&Smiles Membership.

Turkish Airlines’ student flight discounts only apply to those part of their loyalty program, Miles&Smiles. It is free to join and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to provide the necessary details.

Step Two: Define Your Account as a Student.

Next, you’ll have to log in to your account to let Miles&Smiles and Turkish Airlines know that you are a student. Depending on where you are studying, you may need to define your Miles&Smiles account or fill out another online registration form.

Step Three: Purchase Your Student Flight Discount Ticket.

Once your student status is approved, go to the Turkish booking page to start browsing flight options. Select the “Student” passenger option to view the applicable discounts. You can see the discounted price displayed at the bottom of the flight selection page.

Who is Eligible?

Turkish Airlines’ student flight discounts are only valid for Miles&Smiles members. It is free to join, and all you have to do is sign up and provide the necessary details.

Turkish student discounts are only valid for scheduled flights operated by Turkish Airlines and AnadoluJet. They are not valid for Turkish Airlines codeshare flights and Star Alliance partner airline flights..

Only students between 13-25 years of age qualify for Student discounts.

How to Create a Miles&Smiles Student Profile

If you are a citizen of Turkey

If you are a Turkish citizen studying in the country, you can register automatically as a student to benefit from the student flight ticket discount.

Create your Miles&Smiles membership or log in to your account if you are already a member.

Enter “Personal Details” and select “Student” from “Discount Types.” Click the “Save” button.

Once the system approves your application, your account will be defined as a student account. It may take an average of seven business days as Turkish Airlines confirms your student status. Once approved, you can enjoy Turkish Airlines’ special privileges and student discounts.

If you have difficulty registering or defining your membership as a student account, you can try to do so from the Turkish Airlines sales offices.

If you are not a Turkish citizen

Are you a non-Turkish citizen or a Turkish citizen studying abroad? You can still become a member of the Miles&Smiles rewards program to get student flight discounts with Turkish Airlines.

You’ll have to sign up for a Miles&Smiles Membership account first. Next, go to Turkish Airlines’ feedback form. You can opt to log in first to your membership account or proceed without logging in. Select “New Feedback” and scroll down until you find the tab that says “Applications.” Click on the “Student Application Form” option.

You’ll need to fill out the form, which asks for basic details, like your name, email, phone number, date of birth, and so on. You’ll also need to input your Miles&Smiles membership number, so it’s best to sign up for an account first.

Next, you need to upload your student card or document to prove your student status. Once the system approves your account and request, your Miles&Smiles membership account will be defined as a student account, and you’ll be able to enjoy Turkish Airlines privileges as a student. It takes an average of seven business days for Turkish Airlines to go through the necessary checks.

Discount Advantages

You can enjoy the following types of discount advantages when you get a student flight discount with Turkish Airlines:

Discounts do not apply to taxes, and the discount rate may vary depending on the route, class, date, and other factors. Discounts also do not apply for promotion (V/P/W/U/F/G) classes.

Additional Baggage Allowance (International Flights)

When you’re going to live abroad long-term, you usually end up packing a lot more things than if you were just going away for a few days on vacation. With Turkish Airlines, you’ll get an extra baggage allowance, so you don’t have to worry about running out of space.

With your student flight discount, you’ll get 40 kilograms on international flights (equivalent to two pieces of baggage at 23 kilograms each, as implemented by the Piece Concept). If you’re traveling domestically, you’ll get advantageous excess baggage fees.

If you are flying domestically, your baggage allowance is the same for regular adult passenger types.

A photo or photocopy of the card will not be accepted. If it is determined that you are not eligible for the discount, you will not be permitted to travel.

Validity

Your Miles&Smiles student account status is valid for one year. At the end of the year, if you still wish to take part and benefit from the advantages, you will need to apply again.

Guidelines for Domestic Flights

Turkish Airlines’ student flight discounts are valid for one-way or round-trip Economy and Business Class flights. These flights are to and from Ercan Airport. You must be a member of the Miles&Smiles program to take advantage of the student flight discounts and other privileges of Turkish Airlines.

Requirements for Domestic Students

• You must upload a student ID or another official document that confirms your student status. This includes the following:
