Best Western corporate codes can reduce your nightly rate, but they’re not public coupons. Most corporate rates are tied to a specific employer, organization, or university travel program, and properties may verify eligibility at check-in.
In this guide, I’ll explain how Best Western corporate codes work, where to enter them during booking, what eligibility typically looks like, and the best alternatives (like AAA, AARP, or Best Western’s small-business program) if you don’t have an approved corporate rate.
What are Hotel Corporate Codes?
In case you aren’t familiar with them, Corporate Codes are special rate codes that are used to identify the negotiated rate an organization has with a hotel chain (in this case, Best Western Hotel Group) and are entered in a “Corporate Code” field on the booking page to calculate the reduced rate.
These rates apply to corporations, members of certain organizations, universities, and government officials. They can be either local discounts with a specific hotel or national discounts that apply across the entire chain of properties.
Corporate codes are intended for authorized travelers under that organization’s agreement (commonly, employees and approved contractors traveling on business, and any other groups explicitly covered by the program terms). If you’re not sure whether you qualify, use the alternatives section below rather than guessing.
Start Here: Which Best Western Rate Should You Book?
- You have a corporate code from your employer/university: Use that code and confirm the rate rules in case proof is required at check-in.
- You’re visiting a university for an official event (tour, orientation, conference): Use the booking link or instructions provided by the organizer or the school’s travel page.
- You don’t have a verified corporate rate: Compare public discounts like the AAA rate, AARP member rate, or Best Western Business Advantage before spending time on corporate IDs.
Best Western Corporate Rates
Corporate discounts will vary from location to location and can be up to 20% off rack rates.
Below are examples of Best Western corporate codes associated with negotiated programs. Availability can be inconsistent by hotel and date—Best Western corporate rates are not published as widely or continuously as those of the largest business-travel chains. Always confirm eligibility through your employer or program administrator before booking.
Like Wyndham and Choice Hotels, Best Western doesn’t get the same level of business travel as Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, or Marriott, so they don’t have as many properties that offer corporate rates.

Best Western University Discounts
Some universities and higher-education organizations have negotiated Best Western rates for eligible travelers (for example: faculty/staff, students, alumni association members, visiting speakers, or attendees of official campus events). These are typically restricted rates, and eligibility rules vary by school.
The most reliable way to find a legitimate university discount is through official channels:
- Your university’s travel portal, HR page, or employee/student travel benefits page
- A booking link or rate instructions provided by an event organizer (tour, orientation, conference, reunion)
- The school’s travel management program (if applicable)
If you receive a code or booking link, review the rate terms before booking and be prepared to show proof of eligibility if requested at check-in.
How to Book with a Best Western Corporate Code
There are two places where you enter a corporate code when booking with Best Western.
At the top of the booking page:
Go to the Best Western Booking Page. Enter your destination, then in either the check in or check out field, hit the down arrow and some additional fields will show up including the number of adults and children as well as the rates field. Click the arrow on the rates field and you will find another field where you can enter the Best Western corporate code.

On the search results page:
If you forgot to enter the corporate code on the original booking page, don’t worry, there is also another option to enter the code on the property search results page. It will be the same “rates” table as in the first example, but this time you will find it on the left side of the page instead of the top.

Identification Requirements when Using a Corporate Code
Eligibility checks can vary by property and rate type. Some Best Western hotels may request proof of eligibility at check-in or pre-arrival (for example: a company ID/badge, business card, corporate email, or university ID for academic rates).
If you cannot verify eligibility, the hotel may reprice the reservation to a public rate or ask you to rebook.
