Recently, I planned a girl’s trip to Kiawah Island, South Carolina. I was looking for an area that would have a lot of activities but also would allow for a lot of relaxation as well.
I had been to Kiawah Island before and fell in love with everything about it!
Kiawah is on the Atlantic Coast, just 25 miles southwest of Charleston, South Carolina. And even though it’s mainly known as a beach and golf resort, there are so many other things to enjoy. The island is so lush with greenery and feels so tropical with all the beautiful views of the ocean.
Inspirato Homes on Kiawah Island
Since we are members of a high-end travel club, Inspirato, I first searched to see what homes they had available in Kiawah.
I was happy to find that Inspirato has a lot to choose from on Kiawah! There are currently 8 homes ranging from a four-bedroom (2,000 sq ft.) condo to a six-bedroom (5,000 sq ft.) home. On top of that, they have 4 rooms at the Sanctuary Golf Resort!
After going back and forth a bit, we decided on a beautiful home (Terrapin) that looked to have all the amenities that us girls would enjoy, and surprisingly it was available on the dates we were considering.
Planning the trip
I booked the home through Inspirato.com and then reached out to our travel planner, Whitney, who then proceeded to plan this amazing trip for our group.
Whitney was very knowledgeable on Kiawah, as well as Charleston. I gave her some ideas of what we were looking for in a girl’s weekend, and she hit the nail on the head! She confirmed that the Terrapin House we were considering was perfect.
She also gave us the best recommendations on restaurants, bike rentals, and boat tours. Then….she made the reservations for us! We even took a private pickleball lesson, which she also set up for us, racquet rentals and all. This trip would not have been the same without all of her suggestions and work securing them.
Inspirato Terrapin Home – Kiawah Island
Upon arriving on our first day, we fell in love with the house. It was over 3,500 square feet, with 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and an open concept that overlooked a small lap pool and a beautiful marsh.
We were immediately met by our Inspirato concierge, Hunter, who had a charcuterie plate awaiting us, and gave us a full tour of the house. She answered any and every question we had.
Did I mention that the bikes had already been delivered to our house?
Inspirato really makes vacationing seamless! Hunter checked in with us every day to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
Bedrooms
The House had five bedrooms (including the Master), four ensuite bathrooms, and a bunk room with two beds. The rooms were large and beautifully decorated.
The Master was exceptional, with a full sitting area, a large balcony with an amazing view, a huge walk-in closet, and a great bathroom and shower.
The bathrooms were all well done, with nice size showers, fluffy towels, robes, and luxury toiletries. It was a fabulous home!
Kitchen
The kitchen was also perfect, with high-end appliances and plenty of seating for a large group. It had all the kitchenware that anyone would ever need, and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
We had groceries ordered and delivered to the house, which were waiting for us when we arrived.
Living Room
The living room was also perfect for our group. We enjoyed playing games one night and watching a movie, and had the best set up for relaxation.
Day Trip to Charleston
One day, we drove to Charleston and stayed there throughout dinner. Charleston is so quaint and the traditional southern architecture is stunning.
Whitney was also very instrumental in finding us the best brunch spot, shopping area, dinner spot, and local tours. It was about a 45-minute drive from Kiawah, but worth the drive. We had the best time!
Overall Experience with Inspirato on Kiawah Island
Overall, I would rate this Inspirato trip as one of my favorites. The service from the Inspirato team was exceptional, the home was fabulous, and the amenities on Kiawah Island are top-notch. Whether you enjoy golfing, biking, the beach, or tennis, Kiawah Island has it all.
Since I’m not a golfer, I cannot speak of the courses on Kiawah, but I do know that they are supposed to be exquisite. They are nationally renowned and many golfers travel here to play. My husband and son played the Ocean Course on our last visit here and said it was awesome.
Inspirato Bonus Trip
As an Inspirato Pass member, we have access to a great product called Inspirato Bonus Trips. By using a Bonus Trip for this booking, we only paid $3,000 for the entire 4 night’s stay, including taxes, fees, and housekeeping.
The Inspirato homes on Kiawah typically go for a little over $3,000 per night, so to be able to get four nights for that price was an amazing deal!
