Etihad AMEX Offer: How to Save 10% on Etihad Airfare!

Using the Etihad Amex Offer is the easiest way to save when booking a flight on Etihad Airways. All you have to do is book through Etihad’s special offer link and pay with your American Express Card.

International flights can be very expensive, so 5-10% can potentially save you hundreds of dollars!   Here is everything you need to know to make the most of this offer.

The Etihad Amex Offer

Etihad and American Express have partnered for several years to help you save when you use your American Express card and book your flight directly with Etihad.   Right now there are two versions of this promotion, one provides a 10% discount and the other provides a 5% discount. The 5% version is the most widely available. Here are links to both offers:

After you click on the link above, you will be asked to enter the first four digits of your American Express card. If you are eligible for the promotion, the “search for flights” button will be highlighted and allow you to click it to move to the booking page. If you are not eligible the button will stay gray and will not let you continue.

You will notice from these screenshots that the 5% offer is available on the Etihad global website and the 10% offer is on their German website, so the 10% might only apply to travelers based in Germany. I don’t know for sure, but that is what appears to be the case.

What is the Etihad American Express Offer?

Etihad Airways is offering American Express Cardmembers a discount of up to 10% on selected flights in First, Business, and Economy Class, excluding taxes (this offer does not apply when booking flights in Residence Class).  All you have to do is book through the Etihad Amex link (above) and pay with your American Express Card to receive the discount.

The discount is available on all fare classes, however, you will need to make sure there is a yellow star before the fare to know you are buying a ticket with a discount.   As you can see from the example below, most, but not all, fares are eligible for the Etihad AMEX Discount Offer.

Here is a screenshot of a sample flight from New York (JFK) to Abu Dhabi (AUH) using the Etihad Amex Discount Promotion / Offer.  The results will show that the promo code and the discount were automatically applied.

Naturally, with this deal, the higher your base fare, the more you save.  Anyone booking a business or first class ticket with the Etihad Airways AMEX Offer can save some big bucks!

How to Apply the Offer Code:

The Etihad Amex offer is not like the targeted American Express offers that are unique and vary from cardholder to cardholder.   This one is open to anyone who owns an American Express card.  While you won’t have to “opt-in” for the offer, you must book through the special Etihad Amex link included in this article.

When you click on the link for the Etihad AMEX Promotion and Offer you will find a “Book Flights” box where you will enter the first 4 digits of your American Express Card.

Hit submit to be sent to the booking page where you will enter your origin, destination, and travel dates.  The airfares will then be automatically calculated with your discount baked in.

Is there an Etihad Amex Offer Code?

At one point you could use Promo Code AMXD0120 and enter it in the promo code box when booking to get the discount, but it no longer appears to work. If you want to qualify for the Amex discount, you have to go through the Etihad Amex page where a code is automatically applied.
