We spent five nights at The St. Regis Bermuda in May for my wife’s birthday. I’ve wanted to come here for years, so I was excited to see if it lived up to the hype and the high expectations I had. We were looking for a trip that was equal parts relaxing and fun, with a little “birthday trip” energy built in.
This was our first time in Bermuda, so we used the resort as our base and explored the island when we wanted to get off property. St. George’s sits at the far eastern end of the island—it’s close to the airport but fairly remote from most of Bermuda’s other towns and attractions. Getting to Hamilton or the south shore beaches means a 30-40 minute taxi ride, so you’re somewhat committed to staying put or budgeting for longer cab rides.
Here’s my review of our five-night stay at The St. Regis Bermuda Resort.
The St. Regis Bermuda opened in May 2021 as Marriott’s first St. Regis property in Bermuda. The resort has 120 rooms total—81 guest rooms, 10 junior suites, 16 deluxe suites, and several one and two-bedroom suites.
The architecture blends Bermuda’s traditional style with modern resort design. It’s not the most distinctive St. Regis property visually—it looks more like an upscale beach condo development rather than the beautiful St. Regis aesthetic you’d find at properties like the St. Regis New York or St. Regis Punta Mita.
Location
The St. Regis Bermuda sits at the northeastern tip of Bermuda in the historic town of St. George, about 10-15 minutes from the airport. It’s located on St. Catherine’s Beach with Fort St. Catherine (worth visiting) literally next door.
We walked into St. George several times during our stay for dinner and coffee—it’s about a 15-minute walk. The town has some good spots like Wahoo’s Bistro and Temptations Café. It’s a nice break from having to eat on the property every night.
The location is somewhat isolated from Bermuda’s other main areas. It works well if your plan is to stay at the resort for most of your trip, enjoy the beach, and make occasional excursions into St. George’s. But it isn’t great if you want to explore Bermuda, check out restaurants across the island, or explore the town of Hamilton. Transportation costs and time add up quickly—a simple dinner in Hamilton becomes a $120+ taxi expense before you’ve ordered food.

Lobby
Check-in takes place at seating areas in the lobby rather than at a front desk. Staff greet you at the entrance, handle your luggage, and walk you to one of the check-in spots. It’s the typical St. Regis approach and works fine when they’re not busy.
The lobby itself is contemporary and comfortable without being particularly memorable. It features the typical St. Regis design elements—elegant but not overly ornate. Natural light comes in through large windows, and the space feels more like a modern luxury condo lobby than a classic resort entrance.

Rooms and Suites
The St. Regis has 120 rooms total—81 guest rooms and 39 suites of various sizes. Base rooms are called “Limited View” or “No View,” which is honest—they really don’t have views. These rooms are about 650 square feet, which is big for Bermuda. At a luxury resort though, you’ll want the ocean view rooms or suites.
I used a Suite Night Award for an upgrade, which confirmed a couple of days before arrival. The property has been pretty generous with suite upgrades for Titanium and above, especially in shoulder season (November through April). Ocean view suites make a huge difference—you get a separate sitting area and a balcony that’s actually big enough to use.

The rooms have what you’d expect—Nespresso machines, good linens, big bathrooms with soaking tubs, and TVs that connect to Netflix easily. One nice detail: Bermuda uses US electrical outlets, so no adapters needed if you’re coming from the States.

The balcony became our favorite spot during the stay—perfect for morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. The sliding glass doors opened wide to let in the sea breeze, and the sound of waves was wonderfully relaxing.

Restaurants and Bars
We didn’t dine at the hotel’s restaurants during our stay, opting instead to explore Bermuda’s dining scene off-property. The St. Regis has three main food and beverage outlets:
Lina Restaurant serves breakfast (7:00-10:30 AM) and lunch (noon-4:00 PM) daily. The restaurant features both indoor seating and a popular outdoor terrace overlooking the pools and ocean.
BLT Steak NY takes over the same space for dinner service (6:00 PM-9:00 PM Monday-Thursday, until 10:00 PM Friday-Sunday), offering a steakhouse menu with à la carte pricing.

The St. Regis Bar operates from 4:00 PM to midnight and serves a combination of items from both restaurant menus, plus an extensive sushi selection. The bar also offers the nightly Champagne sabering ceremony at 6:00 PM—a St. Regis tradition where an employee uses a saber to open a bottle of Champagne, followed by complimentary glasses for guests.

Tobacco Bay Beach Bar & Restaurant is also right next to the resort if you want a casual dining option off-property.

Amenities
The resort has two outdoor infinity pools with ocean views. One is adults-only, the other accommodates families. Pool attendants bring water and towels and take food orders. Unfortunately, cooler weather during our May visit meant we didn’t use the pools as much as we’d hoped, but on the days we did venture out, the setting was beautiful.

The beach is what makes this property worth considering. The sand has that pink tint Bermuda is known for, and the water in the cove stays really calm—you can swim without dealing with waves or currents.
The water is clear enough that you’ll see fish swimming around even close to shore. Beach attendants set up umbrellas and loungers, and they’re helpful without hovering.
The issue is capacity. During high season (May through September), you need to get there before 9:30 AM if you want a prime spot. With 120 rooms at the resort, finding good chairs when it’s busy gets competitive.

The resort also has an 18-hole, par-62 golf course that winds through the property with ocean views from nearly every hole (Five Forts Golf Club).

Fitness Center
The 24-hour fitness center is well-equipped with cardiovascular machines (treadmills, bikes, ellipticals), free weights, and weight machines. Complimentary water, towels, and sanitized headsets are available.

Pros and Cons:
For my wife’s birthday celebration, it provided a beautiful setting and comfortable accommodations, though we wished for warmer weather to fully enjoy the outdoor amenities. The property is ideal for couples seeking a relaxing beach getaway and families who will appreciate the kids’ club and family pool.
Would I return? Possibly, but I’d time it for the warmer summer months. This isn’t the most luxurious St. Regis property I’ve stayed at, but it offers a solid base for exploring Bermuda, with the convenience of a beachfront location and the perks of Marriott elite status.
