Budget is a mid-segment rental car company that offers competitively priced cars for rent both domestically and at international locations. While their base prices are generally very good, you can get an even better deal when you use a Budget BCD Code or a Budget Coupon Code. Or use them together to get the biggest bang for your buck!
All the major car rental companies offer deals, promotions, and discounts. But they all do it a little differently and they don’t make the best discounts publicly available.
Don’t worry, we did a little research to help you out. Here is your guide to saving a lot of money on your next Budget Car Rental.
What’s a Budget BCD Code?
A Budget BCD Code is the abbreviation for the “Budget Customer Discount” program. These discounts can range from a limited-time offer to a corporate discount, to a discount for using a particular credit card, to a discount and bonus offer combined with a Budget Travel Partner. Most car companies have abbreviations for their promotions and discounts, BCD is just the designation used by Budget.
How to apply a Budget BCD code or Budget Coupon Code?
When making your reservation you will see that Budget has a separate field for the BCD Code # and the Coupon Code #. You will often be able to “stack” a discount and bonus offer by using both a BCD Code and a Coupon Code. Just enter or paste the code number in the box and the discount and offer will automatically be applied.

Here’s a list of the current Budget Coupon Codes and BCD Codes. The first one on the list is exclusively for milepro readers and provides up to 35% off prepay rates and up to 25% off pay later rates using Budget BCD Code D822120.

Personally, I prefer to take a slightly lower discount and not have to prepay for the car (unless your reservation will be in the next week or so and you are certain it won’t change).
Budget Coupon Codes
How to Stack Budget Coupons and BCD Codes
Coupon codes can often be “stacked” with BCD codes to give you an even better deal. My recommendation is to “stack” the milepro BCD code with the Free Car Upgrade code. Just click on the milepro BCD link (which will pre-populate the BCD code field) and enter the coupon code for the free upgrade (UUWZ042) in the “Coupon” Box.
As you can see from the sample reservation screenshot below, you’ll be shown a list of car types that offer the discount for the BCD code and are eligible for a free upgrade. You’ll also be given the choice to pay later or pay now for further savings.
Budget Student and Alumni Discounts
Another way to get a discounted corporate code with Enterprise is to check and see if your College or University has either an alumni deals page or student benefits page that offers car rental discounts. As a Michigan State alumni, I have access to discounts with Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, and National – the discounts can range from 10-30%.
In this case, the MSU Corporate code for Budget is BCD# Z408913 and it provides a pretty good discount, in the 25% off range. Do a quick google search on your university and see what discounts you can come up with.
Before using one of these codes, double-check and make sure you are allowed to use these University Discount Codes on personal rentals. Some codes are published for business travel only, while others can be used for personal rentals. In some cases, the rental car company provides a separate code for personal use and business use.
Other Ways to Save on Your Next Budget Car Rental
Car Rental Discount Codes are not the only way to save when you rent a car. Here are a couple of other tips to consider when renting your next car.
Join the Loyalty Club
This is a no-brainer. Joining the Budget loyalty program is free and only takes a couple of minutes to sign up. Once you are a member, you can get great perks, free rental days, and free upgrades.
Rent with a Premium Credit Card
Premier credit cards, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred or Reserve card, have rental car insurance benefits include which will allow you to bypass the added insurance fees the car companies will try to get you to purchase. Make sure your credit card offers “primary” rental car insurance coverage. My Sapphire Preferred Card saved me when I had an accident in Italy.
Rent Off Airport
I am not a huge fan of this option, since it can be quite an inconvenience. However, you can save quite a bit by renting outside of the airport and avoiding all of the added fees that come with renting at the airport.
Don’t prepay for Gas
It’s easy to get sucked into thinking that the lower-priced prepaid gas is a good deal. It isn’t. When you prepay for gas you are paying for a full tank. The odds of you using every last bit of gas before you return are very low. Fill the tank up several miles outside the airport and you will be better off.
Consider booking through an airline portal
Many major airlines have partnerships with rental car companies, offering drivers discounts, the ability to earn miles, and more when you book the car rental through their portal.
You can also book a vacation package through your airline. Any time you can package your flight with a car rental and/or hotel stay, there is an opportunity for additional savings.
