How the Student Flight Pass Works

You purchase a set number of flight credits in advance
Each credit can be redeemed for one flight within the selected zone
Pricing is fixed, which can protect against fare increases

This option can make sense for students who expect to fly multiple times during the year, such as traveling between home and school or returning home during academic breaks.

How to Get Air Canada’s Student Flight Pass

Sign up for an Aeroplan membership.
Wait for your account to be approved (approximately 72 hours).
Check out the different student flight pass zones. (See below for the links to each specific one.)
Select the price under Student fare or Flex fare.
Click “Preview flight availability” and select your point of origin, destination, and travel date to see if the flight zone your selected is what you are looking for.
Click “Continue” to check out your Student Flight Pass. (You can only book your first ticket after 24 hours of buying the pass.)
Go to the aircanada homepage.
Click on the Flight Pass Tab, and click Manage Your Flight Pass.
Sign in using your Aeroplan number and password.
Select the Flight Pass you want to use and click “Book a Flight.”

Where Can You Fly with the Student Flight Pass?

The Student Flight Pass lets you fly within Air Canada’s specified travel zones in North America or to international destinations. You must be originating from certain cities and going to certain cities.

Before you book, make sure to verify eligible itineraries for each travel zone, as travel may not be possible between all cities listed below. Click on the “Preview Flight Availability” button to view eligible routings and available flights.

North America Zones

Alberta Commuter	For students who travel between Edmonton or Calgary and select destinations in Alberta. All travel must originate or terminate in either Edmonton or Calgary.
Atlantic	For students who travel: Between Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal and select destinations in Atlantic Canada.Within select destinations of Atlantic Canada. Travel must originate or terminate in one of the following cities: Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, St. John’s, Halifax, Sydney, and Charlottetown.
Halifax	For students who travel between Halifax and select destinations in Atlantic Canada. All travel must originate or terminate in Halifax.
Ontario	For students who travel between Toronto, Ottawa, Windsor, London, and select cities in Ontario. Travel must originate or terminate in one of the following cities: Toronto, Ottawa, Windsor, or London.
Eastern Commuter	For students who travel between London, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto, and Windsor.
Western Commuter	For students who travel between: Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Victoria and select destinations in British Columbia.Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Victoria, and select destinations in Alberta. All travel must originate or terminate in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Victoria.
Vancouver Commuter	For students who travel between Vancouver and several destinations in British Columbia. All travel must originate or terminate in Vancouver.
Prairies Commuter	For students who travel between: Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, and Winnipeg.
Eastern Canada	For students who travel within Eastern Canada. Travel must originate or terminate in one of the following cities: Toronto, Ottawa, Windsor, London, Quebec City, Montreal, Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, St. John’s, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown.
Western Canada	For students who: Travel within Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Calgary, and Edmonton.Travel between Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Calgary, Edmonton, and Western Canada. Travel must originate or terminate in one of the following cities: Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Calgary, or Edmonton.
Eastern USA Schools	For students who travel between Eastern Canada (Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, or Atlantic Canada) and select destinations in the USA.Western Canada (British Columbia or Alberta) and select destinations in the USA. Travel within Canada is not permitted.
