Note: The Westin Paris – Vendôme permanently closed on April 27, 2025, for renovations and will not reopen as a Westin.
Overlooking the Tuileries Gardens, with great views of the Eiffel Tower, The Westin Paris may be in the best location of any hotel in Paris. Originally built in 1878, the hotel underwent a major renovation by Starwood/Westin in 2008 after its conversion from an InterContinental Hotel. The hotel now blends the contemporary “chic” look and feel of a Westin with the classic architecture and history of Paris.
The Location:

The Westin Paris Vendôme is centrally located in Paris’ 1st arrondissement, the historical Right Bank district. The Jardin des Tuileries is across the street and The Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and Palais Royale are within a couple of blocks. Notre Dame Cathedral, Île Saint-Louis, and the Champs-Élysées are a little over a mile away. Charles de Gaulle International Airport is about 15 miles from the hotel.
The Rooms:
We stayed in a 4th-floor Prestige Suite room, which had a separate bedroom and living room as well as two full bathrooms. This is the perfect setup for my wife and me since I like to get up early, turn the lights on and work on my laptop – which I can do without bothering her while sleeping in the separate bedroom.

This was definitely not your typical “chain hotel room”, it felt more like you were staying in an apartment than a hotel room. The room was very warm with a variety of muted grey, gold, and blue tones throughout. It also had a ton of wood trim and moldings as well as some recessed coves that made each room feel very unique and “Parisian”. Definitely, not your standard Westin hotel room.
While I loved the two bathrooms, I must admit I was a little disappointed that they did not have the Westin Heavenly Shower that you typically count on with a Westin (they did have the Heavenly Bed though). The rooms had a ton of character and charm and the bathrooms were just average. Oh well, small trade-off…
Amenities:
In the basement of the hotel is a spa, Six Senses Spa at rue de Castiglione, and a workout facility with weights, treadmills, etc… There are two restaurants and a bar. Off to the left of the lobby is le First, restaurant boudoir Paris, the fine dining option which extends into the open-air courtyard, located in the center of the hotel, for the warm weather months. There are also some tables outside of the hotel, overlooking the Jardin des Tuileries if you want to both be outside and watch the people passing by.
