Whether you are looking for a great espresso to kick start a cold Ohio Winter morning, or a refreshing iced coffee to cool you off in the Summer, One Line Coffee has you covered.
These guys take their coffee seriously…. they roast the beans in the back, brew with a ultra high end machine, and even have a Yama Drip Tower Wall to make iced coffee. I was impressed…
The Atmosphere:
At most coffee houses, the coffee bar and Barista's are on one side of the space, backing up to a wall… not here. At One Line Coffee, the bar and Barista's are right in the middle of the room. The coffee bar is in the center of the space, which makes for a more social experience with the Barista and better interaction with coffee making process. The hardwood floors, exposed brick walls and Edison light bulbs hanging from the ceiling provide an industrial feel.
As you move toward the rear of the space, the Yama Drip Tower wall is on the left and the coffee roasting area is in the back.
This was my first exposure to a Yama Drip Tower. I didn't get to try the iced brewed coffee that came from it, but I hear it is quite good – more delicate with lower acidity than traditionally poured coffee. It takes 8-12 hours for the brew process – using pure ice water that slowly drips through the grind.
The Machine:
The Marzocco Strada EP – the Ferrari of Espresso Machines…
The Beans:
One Line roasts their own coffee beans and are a “fair trade™” certified roaster.
The Macchiato:
Well done…. I Liked it!
The Location:
Located in the Short North Neighborhood of Columbus, right between downtown and the OSU campus.
